Tether’s $500 Billion Valuation Ambition Draws Ark Invest and SoftBank Interest
Tether Holdings SA, the issuer of the world's largest stablecoin USDT, is negotiating what could become one of crypto's most significant private funding rounds. The company seeks to raise $15-$20 billion at a staggering $500 billion valuation, equivalent to selling a 3% equity stake through newly issued shares.
SoftBank Group and Cathie Wood's Ark Investment Management are reportedly in discussions to participate. The proposed valuation dwarfs USDT's current $170-$175 billion market capitalization, signaling institutional confidence in Tether's expansion beyond stablecoins into cloud services, telecommunications, and real estate investments.
